Origins of the Foundation

The Fundación Grupo Operístico de Navarra was founded in 1997. With the arrival of this Institution, new objectives began to flourish. The idea of collaboration and altruistic aid, with non-profit associations, gave the Foundation a cultural and charitable character that created a more prominent image within the lyrical world.

The Foundation was founded with two essential objectives: to seek new audiences and to provide assistance to emerging singers, to which it gradually added the objective of collaborating in charity events and performances.

The first thing that is attempted to be done to encourage new singers is to motivate them to love opera. And one method that did not require much effort was to motivate them to study and offer them a place where they could practice their repertoire for free.
When you are young, you don't have the money to pay a pianist, a singing teacher... you have to save up to buy sheet music, make recordings, as well as learn to sing and then be lucky enough to be hired.

The Foundation was set up to organise more events, most of them for charity.

During the almost 30 years that the Foundation has been in operation, dozens of letters and messages of gratitude have been received from associations, foundations and individuals who have received aid through the funds raised by a concert or activity that the Foundation has organized.

Furthermore, the Foundation does not only collaborate in the artistic field, but also sponsors other charitable foundations that seek the common good by making the headquarters of the Foundation in Madrid, located at 25 Covarrubias Street, available to them for the realization of charitable events.

Navarra and Gayarre have been the two foundations on which our foundation has based its international projection. The tribute concerts to Gayarre stand out, with the latter, three in Roncal, ten in Cintruénigo and one in Madrid.

Also the emblematic project “Navarra in Chile” with the world premiere of Sarasate’s work “Los Pájaros de Chile” at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid and at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes in Santiago de Chile.

During these nearly thirty years we have collaborated with a good number of charitable and charitable institutions such as International Cooperation, María Ayuda Foundation, UNICEF, Prodis Foundation, Ayuda en Acción, ... In this year 2025 we are going to collaborate in the 25th anniversary of La Favorita - Madrid and the 30th anniversary of our artistic activities
